Lauryn Hill blames slavery for not paying $2 million in taxes, believes she was ‘fighting for…freedom

Standing in federal court this week, Lauryn Hill compared herexperience in the music industry to the slavery her ancestors endured before a judge sentenced her to three months in prison for failing to pay about $1 million in taxes over the past decade.
